What is the success rate of IVF?
Success rates depend on age and health factors. Women under 35 typically see a 55-65% success rate in the first cycle.
What is the maximum age to undergo IVF treatment?
The maximum age to undergo IVF treatment is 47 to 50 if you are fit and healthy. Keep in mind that the success rate decreases with the increase in age.
Can we select gender through IVF?
The answer is NO. Sex determination of foetus is not allowed. It is a punishable offense under PC-PNDT Act 1994. Even, asking for sex determination of foetus is also an offence under PC-PNDT Act 1994.
Does IVF treatment always give twins?
This is partially incorrect. IVF has higher chances of multiple pregnancies but does not always result in twins. When more than one embryo is implanted by chance or a single embryo divides in the uterus after implantation then it results in multiple pregnancies. Around 30-40% of women have multiple pregnancies through IVF treatment.
Are IVF babies healthy and safe?
IVF babies are born completely safe and healthy mentally and physically with no birth defects. Studies say that IVF babies are as normal as the babies born through natural conception.
Is egg retrieval in IVF painful?
As egg retrieval is done under anesthesia, the patient may not feel any pain during this process. But after 2-3 days of egg retrieval, the patient may experience abdominal pain or bloating for a week.
When do I need an IVF?
Nowadays, many couples are facing fertility challenges. IVF is recommended, if there are factors such as recurrent miscarriage or pregnancy loss, damaged or blocked fallopian tube, anovulation, unexplained infertility, low ovarian reserve, endometriosis, or male factor infertility such as low sperm count, poor quality sperm etc.

It depends on certain conditions. There are some conditions which can be corrected through minor or major surgeries, while there are some which cannot be corrected and couples will have to choose fertility treatment to conceive.
