Egg Freezing
Egg Freezing is a method in which a woman’s eggs are extracted and cryopreserved. This is done mainly for eligible patients who want to preserve their fertility.
Since the last few years, mature oocyte vitrification has been considered a major advance technology in the field of IVF. Many women have chosen to preserve their fertility through this technique.
Who needs Egg Freezing?
- If a woman is going through some medical treatment/ disease that can affect her fertility in the future like chemotherapy (in case of cancer), pelvic radiation or any surgery that can damage her ovaries
- Any genetic / chromosomal abnormalities or family history of Early menopause
- Personal reason, when you are ready and want to get pregnant.

How is it done?
- First, your Doctor may prefer some testing and screening of blood test that includes:

- Ovarian stimulation: Once the patient is ready for egg freezing, ovarian stimulation is started to get a good egg number after retrieval
- Once the patient has a good number of mature oocytes after the retrieval process, the eggs are allowed to incubate and then are frozen with the process called vitrification
- After the eggs have been freezed successfully, it can be used whenever the patient wants to
